Your Different Treatment Options
Acupuncture Services in Easton, CT
As stated in Traditional Chinese Medicine, maintaining good health mirrors the balance of yin and yang, which is referred to as Qi. When an illness or injury interrupts this balance your health will decline until this disturbance in your energy flow is fixed. Your Qi flows through the acupuncture points in your body, and during a session, we will work to balance out your energy flow using sterile needles that are inserted into the necessary acupuncture points.*
Secondary Acupuncture Therapies
Cupping is another form of alternative medicine that uses glass cups, or bamboo jars, in various sizes to create suction on the targeted area and break up stagnation, promoting blood circulation. This therapy can help relieve muscle tension, promote cell repair, and reduce stress. Here at Sophia, we offer our Easton patients two options for cupping: wet or dry. Come in today and start to feel relief from your achy muscles.*
Diathermy, also known as moist heat therapy, is a technique that uses high-frequency electric currents to help stimulate heat circulation in a targeted area. It is shown to help relieve pain, increase blood flow, and make tissues more flexible which could lead to accelerated healing in a patient with joint or muscle issues.*
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves burning dried mugwort, a spongy herb, on certain parts of the body as a counter-irritant that can help healing. This method can help our Easton patients stimulate their Qi and maintain overall health.
Here at Sophia in Easton we offer our patients Tui Na, another form of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Tui Na is the use of therapeutic massage that helps fight any disharmony within your body. Tui Na correlates closely with your yin and yang, helping to balance your energy flow. Tui Na can be used in place of acupuncture when it is not necessary or suitable for the patient, typically in cases with children.*
