What is a Digital Meridian Scan?
A Digital Meridian Scan is a computerized tool that measures the electrical resistance of acupuncture points, also known as meridians, and places the results into graphs and charts. The graphs will document the status of each of your meridians, classifying them as stressed, balanced, or weakened. Meridian pathways that are stressed or weakened may have blockages that can result in energetic imbalances and produce negative health conditions. Practitioners use the digital meridian scan to develop an acupuncture treatment to restore the energetic balance and proper energy flow to each meridian.

The History of Digital Meridian Scans
Digital Meridian Scans are based off the discoveries of acupuncture points by Japanese doctors Yoshio Nakatani and Kobei Akabane and German doctor Reinhold Voll in the early 1950s. The doctors concluded that each acupuncture point conducts electricity differently than the surrounding area.
Electricity anomalies among all the different acupuncture points indicated where there were blockages, and acupuncture treatments were created to rebalance the energy. Digital Meridian Scans uses this knowledge of the acupuncture points, and combines it with modern statistical analysis to measure the electrical resistance and map where the abnormalities are.
What to Know Before You Go
The Digital Meridian Scan uses a tiny electric current to test the conductivity of each of your acupuncture meridians. The electric current is extremely safe and in most cases undetectable, the only sensation you will feel is where the tip of the probe is because it will be moist. We do not permit persons with a pacemaker or other implanted medical devices to receive digital meridian scans because the electric current can disrupt the flow of medical devices.
We ask that the day of the test you refrain from using any hand or foot creams as they can skew results. Also before testing remember to remove all jewelry, magnetic devices, or cell phones, because these might also interfere with the electric current.
