What Is Functional Laboratory testing and What are the Benefits?
Functional Lab Testing are a series of tests that will address certain issues that you may be experiencing. These tests can answer questions about symptoms, diagnosis, progress, and much more. These tests will allow you to explore your body in order to address what issues you have be having.
These various tests can show you what is causing your symptoms, if you are headed toward a disease, track the progress of your protocol, and motivate you to stick with your protocol. These tests provide our patients with information and knowledge about the function of their body that they typically do not receive from their conventional doctor visits.
Perhaps you are feeling good but you want to feel and function even better. Functional Lab Testing will analyze factors like aging and then allows us to modify these certain aspects of why you’re not feeling your best. The benefits of these tests are just that, the ability to live a happy, healthy life without complaints or discomfort.
Our Services
Blood Draw Services
Utilizing our blood drawing services, will allow our well-trained phlebotomists to analyze numerous blood tests quickly and efficiently. Your doctor may recommend getting blood tests completed, in order to see how your body is working. Many blood tests don’t require any special preparations. For some, you may need to fast (not eat any food) for 8 to 12 hours before the test. Your doctor will let you know how to prepare for blood tests.
Our office now has a full-time phlebotomist to draw blood for routine tests, function blood chemistry and any other needs. There is no need to go to a separate site for the convenience of our patients.
Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis
Using a comprehensive, routine blood test, our doctors are trained to look at not just the laboratory ranges but to look more deeply into the results to look at early imbalances and malfunctions that can cause disease before it presents outside the set range.
This blood test can:
- Reveal the source of the symptoms you may be experiencing
- Pinpoint underlying health and wellness imbalances that are implicated in many common health complaints.
- Identify hormonal, metabolic, and gastrointestinal contributors to your health problems with scientific accuracy
- Provide vital information to implement optimal balance and health
Adrenal Function testing
Adrenal insufficiency refers to the inability of the adrenal glands to produce a normal quantity of hormones. It may also be defined as a reduced ability to cope with stress. It is one of the most common imbalances in our population today. The Ragland Test is a simple test of blood pressure that can be done to see if one has a possible problem with their adrenal glands and is calculated on all new patients.*
Adrenal insufficiency can be difficult to diagnose. Your doctor will begin by asking about your medical history and about any obvious symptoms you are experiencing. Tests that measure the levels of cortisol and aldosterone are used to make a definite diagnosis and include the following:
- ACTH Stimulation Test
- Insulin-Induced Hypoglycemia Test
Other various Functional tests
Our doctors can order varieties of functional tests based on your needs such as Comprehensive Digestive Function tests, Neurotransmitter testing, Lyme testing, Food allergy testing and more.* We strive to make sure you are well-informed and well-equipped for the tests that we will be completing.
