What INM can offer you
At INM, we have truly blended the best of Chinese medicine diagnostics and natural treatments with western medical knowledge. Not only is our exam process unique but our ability to order and administrate varieties of functional medical tests is superior to any other clinic of our kind.*
Our founder has determined that by assessing the body through a comprehensive and blended exam we can get to the real source of most health issues.* When that is combined with functional diagnostic testing, we can extract the most obscure information to bring about transformational change in your health offering treatments like acupuncture, tui na, lifestyle counseling, cupping. All of our treatment tools fall into the 5 disciplines of Chinese medicine that were outlined in ancient medical texts WITH our own modern updates.
While every patient has a unique program designed specifically to meet their health needs, our services fall into the following categories:
Acupuncture is a very specific method of using fine filiform pins, designed for comfort, to be placed strategically at specific sites on the body that have a regulatory effect on function such as hormones, nervous system, organs and circulation. The technique practiced in our clinic is blend of classical systems located primarily below the elbows and knees. We also incorporate other supportive treatments described below such as moxibustion, cupping and diathermy, to name a few.
Tui Na is a therapeutic form of massage that has been used in China for more than 2,000 years. Tui Na is a supportive modality to acupuncture. The technique makes use of rhythmic compression techniques along circulation pathways known as meridians as a means to restore the flow of circulation to target areas.
Chinese Dietary Therapy is a method of adjusting personal diets to fit each individual’s pattern diagnosis. We take into account not only the nutritional value of food but also its energetic qualities.* For example, where certain foods are viewed as warming and nourishing while others are seen as cooling and eliminating; some foods are useful for building qi while others have blood, yang or yin building properties.
HERBAL & NUTRICEUTICAL MEDICINE
We blend the traditional uses of time-proven herbal formulas combined with the scientific use of modern supplementation. Each protocol is designed for the specific patient based on diagnosis and laboratory testing and monitored closely. All herbs and supplements used in our clinic come from high quality, practitioner-only lines of manufacturers.*
Lifestyle counseling known as “right thinking” in the original Chinese medical textbooks, this is the education we provide for each patient so that they can participate in their healing process. It includes discussing and teaching relaxation techniques, therapeutic exercise, good sleep habits and any other habits or routines that a patient may need to modify or change so they can improve their current health situation.*
Additionally, our own staff Naturopathic Physician can perform annual physicals for school or work and order blood tests and laboratory tests as necessary.
In addition to the above categories, we also offer:
Medical Thermography is the use of an infrared camera to “see” and “measure” what we call metabolism, thermoregulation or thermal energy emitted from the body. These patterns can see the root cause of such conditions as: headaches, allergies, dental pathologies, carotid artery disease, breast cancer, digestive dysfunction, liver/gallbladder disease, musculoskeletal conditions, pain, and immune dysfunction. It is most well researched for its ability to detect risks for breast cancer much earlier than any other screening tool.*
Blood draw services
Our office now has a full-time phlebotomist to draw blood for routine tests, function blood chemistry and any other needs. There is no need to go to a separate site.
Boston Heart Cardiovascular Diagnostics
Boston Heart’s research and science has advanced technology which goes far beyond standard cholesterol screening to accurately determine your individual risk of heart disease. A personalized report is generated that and our clinicians can advise you on custom recommendations to achieve better cardiovascular health*. The test is covered by most major insurance companies. See their website at www.bostonheartdiagnostics.com
Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis
Using a comprehensive, routine blood test, our doctors are trained to look at not just the laboratory ranges but to look more deeply into the results to look at early imbalances and malfunctions that can cause disease before it presents outside the set range.*
We call them “take home” acupuncture. These painless stick-on tacks are a new advanced tool that provides a gentle, painless and stress free press needles. It adheres to the skin and can be left in place for up to a week and will enhance the results between treatments or when on vacation.*
Pulse Pressure Analysis
Pulse Pressure Analysis is the difference between the two blood pressure readings. It represents the force that the heart generates each time it contracts. Based on certain results, is again an indicator for our practitioners of reduced blood flow or early arthrosclerosis.*
Is a vacuum therapy that draws toxins out of tissues, reduces pain, and promotes healthy lymphatic flow.*
Is a form of heat therapy in which the herb mugwort is burned on or near the points and channel to warm the area and increase circulation.*
Digital Pulsewave Analyzer
The DPA Photo-Plethysmograph is a FDA approved device used to measure and analyze pulse waveforms (the heart’s plumbing) and heart rate (the heart’s electrical system). It provides information regarding changes in blood flow and nervous system by way of a non-invasive, infrared light fingertip probe. The DPA offers an early warning test for cardio problems that might otherwise go undetected.
Digital Meridian Scan
The Digital Meridian Imaging system is a computerized tool used to analyze and document the energetic status of the acupuncture meridians. We will use the system in a short examination by touching a moistened probe to acupuncture points on your hands and feet to generate a written report.
Salivary Hormone testing
Knowing your saliva hormone levels is an important first step in assessing where your hormones may be out of balance and determining whether your current natural hormone regimen is working for you.* If you are wondering whether certain symptoms may be due to a hormone imbalance, this is a quick, easy, and accurate way to find out.
Adrenal Function testing
Adrenal insufficiency refers to the inability of the adrenal glands to produce a normal quantity of hormones. It may also be defined as a reduced ability to cope with stress. It is one of the most common imbalances in our population today. The Ragland Test is a simple test of blood pressure that can be done to see if one has a possible problem with their adrenal glands and is calculated on all new patients.*
Also known as moist heat therapy; diathermy is used to relax stiff muscles and increase blood flow to muscles that have been damaged by the lack of oxygen, nutrient rich blood, and reduces pain.
Heavy Metal testing
Heavy Metal testing is used to screen for exposure to heavy metal and toxins that can damage your health. Through a simple urine test, we can determine a baseline and monitor the efficacy of chelation therapy, a natural treatment to help rid the body of high amounts of a heavy metal.*
Uses a specific mineral plate lamp – infrared waves penetrate deep into the tissues of the body helping to accelerate the healing process, increasing circulation, and warming large areas of the body.*
Other various Functional tests
Our doctors can order varieties of functional tests based on your needs such as Comprehensive Digestive Function tests, Neurotransmitter testing, Lyme testing, Food allergy testing and more.*
